The House Of Thin is the coming together of a few well known eating disorder forums into one bigger support system. It is NOT first wave pro-ana by any means, but rather the evolution of that.

Brief History:

House Of Thin started out on April 4th, 2006. It was originally a replacement forum hosted on Conforums for the former hard core pro-ana forum ThinVision. It was in itself hard core as well, but no where near the level ThinVision was. Imagine that ... this place was once that type of place.

The name was just something that popped into my head while thinking of a great name for the new place. It just had that certain flow to it ... nice type that sticks in your mind sort of deal. For House, it's totally what an online community is. You go out and find a house ... and make that house into your home. That is exactly what these online communities are, a place they come to and like what they see ... in turn making it into their home. Thin, that's just what we all are ... thin ... except those who are eating disordered cannot see it in themselves. So as you see it, we are a house full of thin people ... House Of Thin. It was perfect so I went with it. The more I seen the name, the more I liked it and decided to get the dot com of it to genuinely own the best version of it. Better yet, without realizing it the short version was pretty awesome too. H.O.T. It fit perfectly as well and just strengthened the fact the House was here to stay.

April 13th, 2006 ... signed, sealed and delivered ... the House had a permanent property in the form of a dot com. The name just kept sounding better every day so it was the one to get. I said it, so it shall be done. HOT was mine forever.

Or was it? May 5th, 2006 ... one month and one day after making the forum it got deleted too. Just a month!? Crazy having a place go down that fast. But all was ok, I had the dot com and mass emails sent out just in case. It learned me a little bit as to why it as a target, and have corrected all that within here. It is totally NOT the forum that was on Conforums for sure.

May 15th, 2006 marked the official arrival of the website portion of the site. I wanted it to be a news source for all the forums (ed related) that I do, plus be a totally safe site to come to for information on eating disorders. None of the usual "pro" content here, just straight up support.

June 12th, 2006 marked the final nail in the House. It was finally built complete with the addition of a forum. For software, I looked at them all and found the Ultra phpBB gave the best performance, all the features I needed, plus the only one to make the self help idea work out. I had the idea for that style of forum for a long time now and finally got the kick to go and do it. It's the first of it's kind eating disorder support forum. Nowhere else has an ed forum been done the way HOT is.

It's been a battle thus far and we've changed so much through it all. From full on hard core to the now one of a kind support forum that's beyond what any other out there is today. Total change isn't it? Yup ... you have just entered into the Evolution of Pro-Ana. Constantly perfecting the way we support each other and making our lives better. People change, pro-ana changes ... change is good. To improve you must change right?
